What is your role in the Salty Souls Experience ?

Surfing is my passion and I am here to share the stoke, as well as encourage and support you in your learning process. Just like every sport it’s a lot about the know-how and technique. With my personal tips and tricks, I will help you process much faster, so you can make the most out of your surf session, and have loads of fun in the water.

Let’s surf, swim, sweat, laugh, dance and eat together–  Let’s get salty! 🙂

What’s your background and how did you acquire those skills ?

I grew up on the north coast of Germany sailing and horseback riding, and this is why I always have been connected with nature and animals. In my early twenties I went on a life changing two-year solo trip around the world, where I tried surfing for the first time – I got hooked immediately only by watching the stunning sunset on my surfboard in Bali without even catching a wave (lol). With time, practice and the help of friends I caught my first green waves in Costa Rica. Never before have I been as ambitious and eager as I am with surfing. I pushed my limits, focused on goals and practiced as much as possible in various conditions and surf spots around the world. Since then, I am learning and constantly working on it. Also I got a lot of support from my partner who always helps me analyse my surfing.

What’s your biggest challenge within the Salty Souls Experience ?

Considering that surfing is so weather related, I can always just hope for the conditions to cooperate with the program, so the girls have the best time without any interference by mother nature.

Besides that, I am challenged to keep up with all these talented and inspiring women. Though, it’s  beautiful problem :D.

Ninja super skill people don’t know you possess ?

My ninja super skill is getting barrelled- because that is also when I pull out my ninja lookalike stance haha!

Favorite place in the world ?

My favourite place is Ayampe – it’s a magical little village in Ecuador, which I call my second home for 7 years. I love this peaceful town because of of its tranquil vibe and stunning landscape. It’s one of the last places in Ecuador where the jungle meets the ocean and the waves are pretty fun as well! Though I am in love with many places in the world, this one has my heart.

What gets you the most excited in life ?

I am always frothing for a good swell and perfect conditions. I get excited about bigger waves even though they scare me and I chicken out often. It gives me a great adrenaline fix, and sometimes I can make myself proud when I overcome my fear 🙂 . Other than that, I am high on life when I see waterfalls, sunsets, all kind of animals or when I am able to explore new destinations and cultures.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Buying a one way ticket starting in India ending up in Ecuador with a boyfriend and a surf and travel addiction?

Eating a huge worm in the Amazon Jungle?

Sleeping in a tent in winter for 1.5 months?

A bungeejump in Costa Rica?

An eight hour risky rafting trip which was a dangerous once in a lifetime experience but also made my heart beat faster?

You choose!
