What is your role in the Salty Souls Experience?
I will be leading the salty girls through strength training and underwater training on the Fitness Special Edition in El Salvador.
What’s your background and how did you acquire those skills?
A small town girl from Wisconsin, I followed my heart to SoCal where I fell in love with the ocean & CrossFit. CrossFit has taught me that what you put in is what you get out. If you don’t do the work you can’t expect the results. For me training is more than just the physically benefit but more importantly the overcoming of mental challenges in and out of the gym. My passion is in helping others become healthier versions of themselves, and owning Reebok CrossFit St Thomas in the USVI allows me to do this daily.
In 2012, I started the Femme Royale Movement a women’s lifestyle brand. My mission is to empower women to release their inner lioness. Educating women on the importance of not only strengthening their bodies, but their minds as well. That being strong isn’t just about the weight on the bar, or the number on the scale. It’s about being able to get back up after life knocks us down. Releasing your inner lioness is speaking YOUR truth, owning who you want what you want to become. I truly believe releasing your inner lioness is the journey back to one’s true self and it will look differently for each one of us and we most definitely aren’t meant to do it alone.
One of the biggest reasons I’ve focused on training my mindset is because I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was 14 years old. It was until recent years did I learn anxiety doesn’t have to rule my life, matter of fact it is what lead me to find XPT. XPT Life was started by Laird Hamilton & Gabby Reece which incorporates, underwater training, breath work and hot cold training. Their goal is to optimize health both physically and mentally. Through the XPT training I have been able to incorporate my love for the water and weight training in everyday life, as well has taken my mental game to a new level and help subside my anxieties
