Yoga Teacher

What is your role in the Salty Souls Experience ?

I’ll be the Yoga enthusiast in Ecuador!

I love encouraging students to connect to their breath, their heart, and move consciously not only on the mat but also off the mat. I believe in using practice time to cultivate inner joy by silencing the mind and listening to your inner-self, this is when you will start shining from a place of truth and love.

I’m currently based in Boulder, Colorado where I teach Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Kid’s Yoga.

What’s your background and how did you acquire those skills ?

I was born in Venezuela but I’ve been living all over the world for almost two decades; 8 years ago while living in South Florida I discovered yoga as a way to stretch out and relax my body after intense triathlon trainings and stressful days at the office.

I quickly fell in love with the practice and for several years yoga became a way to disconnect from the day-to-day routines and connect with my body, mind and spirit.

In late 2014, while living in Australia I went through a pretty rough emotional breakdown and I noticed that practicing daily yoga had a major positive impact in my healing process. That’s when I decided to take my practice to the next level by getting certified as a Yoga Teacher at The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali.

During that training I met Erika and I knew that one day we would work together and create magic!

Ninja super skill people don’t know you possess ?

I’m really good at imitating most accents in Spanish, like freakingly good, it actually creeps people out haha. Also, I make an amazing guacamole.

Favorite place in the world ?

This is probably the hardest question to answer. I believe every place in the world has its own magic and it’s what you make out of a place and the experiences you have that make it unforgettable.

Some of the places I’ve fallen deeply in love with and have a big place in my heart are Venezuela, South Florida, Sydney and Bali. All these places are part of who I am, they have seen me grow and transform into the person I am now and where I’ve met the most important people in my life.

Oh, and Boulder is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well, you can do it all here, we even went surfing on a lake the other day!

What gets you the most excited in life ?

Definitely exploring the world and meeting new people. I’m fascinated by the history each place holds and all the incredible stories every person can share. Just thinking about it lights up my soul.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done ?

Mmmmm the craziest thing I’ve done recently has to be kicking my fear of commitment in the ass by spontaneously following my heart and getting engaged after two months of dating this hot paragliding pilot in Nepal … then two months later we secretly got married in the middle of the desert in Arizona during a Native American ceremony.
